140 + and my connection drops under 1mb

i pay 140 ish per month and i can get 8mb from about 1am until about 5pm and then my connection goes well under 1mb and drops.

i always need google maps to see travel plans, my son and daughter cannot use youtube or anything which has pictures or clips.

it was awful last night for my son trying to fill his UCAS it should have taken 15 mins instead it took nearly 2 hrs.

i have the router at the main juction box i have tested wired and wireless i have tried all but i know its all to do with there side.

i'm about 1km from exchange, do sky share there exchange with other isp's?

Hi you are in a Bt exchange The connect package is a Bt re-badged max product. Sky do not have any equipment in your exchange. That is why you are on Connect.

That is due to throttling imposed by Sky during the peak hours. For this you will be paying 17 a month. If you want a decent broadband connection your only option is to leave Sky and go to another ISP with a less draconian throttling procedure.

Have a read through this (Unofficial) FAQ - Sky Connect Users and the many other negative posts on the Connect package.

You only have one LLU provider on your exchange and although TalkTalk have had a lot of bad press, they would be better than Connect, if they will accept you.

Although any other BT reseller will be better than connect.

I have just come back to BT at my exchange and although I am under their DLM I must say the service is very good and I'm not seeing any peak time throttling.

Although after 6 weeks of horrible packet loss from O2 which they were unable to sort out and even connect looks more attractive.
I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!
