Unlimited broadband speed dropped from 2m/s to 300k/s

I have had unlimited broadband from sky for over 5 years. My download speeds were always about 1.6m/s this then rose to 2m/s not lo ago

A few weeks ago this dropped to averaging 300k/s

I have called sky and they did a test and said that from there end they think I should be getting speeds of 10 meg.

I have a splitted into the master, which then goes to the router and then an ethernet cable to the pc. I have tried using a different ethernet cable and pc and tried using the other phone connection behind the behind the master. I have also tried 3 splitters

Just had BT out today and they cannot see anything wrong with the line.

I can do some test using online broadband speed tests and it says that I should be getting a download speed of 4386. On my router IP, it has it at 5351.

I have been waiting for a call back from sky for a few weeks and after having bt around today I tried to call their broadband contact number only be told the lines were busy each time.

Does anyone have a number I can get through on or any ideas of what may be the problem. Following the advice on another similar thread I ran a ping diagnostic, its is attached below

The stats aren't good. Did Sky actually send out Openreach to your house? Do you have any noise on your voice line?

Connect to your test socket (link below explaining this). Use only a filter and the short grey dsl cable that Sky provided.

Once you've done that, re-take the stats again.

I have tried the test socket and got similar results. I have only one filter, which I have changed 3 times to retest it and I have only the grey cable from sky in.

My phone line has had some noise on it. I had someone come out from BT as I thought there was problem with the connection coming into my house, but they couldn't see anything wrong with the wiring and suggested that I try another getting a new modem of sky

Does this noise disappear when the router is disconnected? If so, and for the fact that the router is 3-4 years old, I'd call Sky (08442410515) for replacement.

Just tried that this morning and called my house number with the router connected and got noise. Then did the same thing with no router and got no noise

This is your main problem, you have very bad interference on your line which could be external or internal. Can you remove the faceplate and plug into the Test socket with only the router connected, take and post your stats. Now leaving the filter in the Test socket, plug in your phone and post your stats. Your speed will not rise as you are probably capped by DLM.

It's because the SNR is so low. It's faulty cpe - Sky will send replacement if you call.
