      Attenuation rise

      Hi,

I have just recently started with Sky BB Unlimited.

I have the sagem router and when I plugged it into the test socket on initial install I got a sync of around 4100kbps, 46 db Attenuation and 15db of SNR.

Today (day 3 of sky) I have noticed that my attenuation has jumped up to 50db and the SNR is 8.6 giving me a sync of 4600 kbps.

I have checked my account online and it says my line is not being tested.

As I have said I'm using the test socket and with my previous supplier had a stable line with a sync of around 6300 kbps and an SNR of 8ish.

I don't know if it is related but the area where I live has been hit hard by snowfall and cold temperatures.

Could this be DLM starting or is there another explanation???

      Thanks
      Dave

Thanks for the quick reply, I was on adsl2+ with o2 the only reason I changed was to save money, I'm hoping it's the weather but if it doesn't change I'll go back to o2

      Re: Attenuation rise

Are you still in Bannockburn? If so you would not be on ADSL2+ as the exchange is not enabled by O2. They can only supply Access which is BT ADSLMax. Your right about the snow, by the way, but it does not seem to be effecting my connection.

      Re: Attenuation rise

the attenuation should not change by anymore than 1db ...... unless you was put on G.DMT which may drop the attenuation by about 3db ....
