Question speed has dropped a lot

hi, could somebody please explain to me why my speed has dropped so much just by switching from my D-Link Router to the Sagem F@ST 2504, my line attenuation has gone lower since i plugged in the sagem router but my speed has dropped a lot ............ there has been no changes in the line at all, and the speed is still 7.5 - 7.7mbps using the D-Link Router you might be thinknig why not use the D-Link then? but i wanted to test the new 2.8 firmware that has just come out for the sagem and have started using it but it still has 1.9 firmware and has not updated, i just cant understand how the speed can drop so much just by changin router? i have two sagem routers and both have the same sync so the router is not faulty, also the sync was 8000kbps before i got switched to SVBN around a year ago better than the netgear syncronized.

With the D- Link My stats was:

      Download Speed: between 7500 - 7700kbps
      Upload Speed: 1050 - 1090kbps
      Downstream Noise Margin: 7db
      Upload Noise Margin: 8db
      Attenuation:
      Down: 44.5db
      Up: 26.7db

Here is my stats with the sagem router:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 5795 kbps 1087 kbps
Line Attenuation 43.0 db 25.1 db
Noise Margin 7.3 db 7.8 db

Hi what you need to do is post your stats How to get your router statistics and How to test your ADSL in the Master Test Socket at the back of the faceplate. From the same Router.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7589 kbps 1094 kbps
      Line Attenuation 44.0db 26.5db
      Noise Margin 6.5db 7.9db

here is the stats with the D-Link Router ........ im guessing the exchanges equipment is not fully comptaible with the sagem router causing poor syncs.
