Hi can someone wise have a look at my stats and advise me of anything I can do to get my internet better as its super slow, on the up to 8mb package :

I have a black sky router on 1.9 firmware , I am approx 2.8 miles from the exchange. Only router plugged in through a filter, no phones.

      From normal connection

      Noise margin-11.90db 15.5db

      From test connection behind socket

      Downstream Upstream
      connection speed-384kbps 412kbps
      Line Attenuation-64.0db 39.6db

Plug a phone in and check for noise. Tier 1 will need it done anyway as you need to know if your line is working properly. In your test socket your noise margin changes so there is definitely something going on somewhere, do you have more than one socket on the telephone line and if so is your router always plugged into the master socket?

I would say your mode needs to be changed To G.DMT, but as Paul says there is something wrong with your internal wiring. Buying, fitting and using a filtered faceplate would probably cure this. In the mean time, stay plugged into the Test socket, change the filter, phone Sky and ask them to reconfigure your line.
