      No internet connection

Hi chaps, I don't know how much help you can give me on this one but I thought I would see if anyone has any ideas while I await Sky's response. I suddenly have no internet connection. The internet light on my router is generally off apart from every now and again when it goes amber. My telephone line is unbearably noisy too. I have an unfiltered NTE5 faceplate which has a micro filter connected to the test socket. My telephone and router is plugged into this. I have disconnected and then reconnected the orange wire and white wire to A and B to no avail. In addition, I have tried rebooting and unglugging the router. I am guessing that the issue has to be outside my house although there is always the worry of being hit with charges if they send out BT Open Reach. If anyone has any other ideas it'd be great to hear them.
      Thanks in advance,
      Andy.

Does that noise disappear from the landline when the router is disconnected?

It improves slightly but is still terrible. There is a dialling tone though.

      Re: No internet connection

In that case, all you can do is try a, preferably, corded handset directly into the test socket with no other equipment. If you can confirm there is noise present still, then it may be in your interests to check with another handset just to double check it's not the phone itself. If you can indeed confirm two handsets have the exact same issue, with no other equipment at the test socket then you're looking at an external issue and you can be confident no call-out charge will be applicable.

      Re: No internet connection

Thanks, I have now tried it with a corded handset in the master socket and there is a lot of noise. Hopefully they'll send someone out to sort it.
      Cheers for your help.
