      Sync speed after manual configuration

      Hi,

Ok, for about a month my attenuation has dropped from 56 to 52, my SNR went up from 7 to 11 down, 8 to 10 up.

I called sky, and they again manually configured my line to give me some more speed, it sync'd from 2850kbps to 3327kbps, great, attenuation went up to 56, snr's both set at 7.

This morning i have checked my router and it is giving the following stats:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3776 kbps 896 kbps
Line Attenuation 52 db 30 db
Noise Margin 5 db 7 db

Iam not complaining, but the chap said my line was capped on G.DMT at 3327, why is it now sync'd at 3776 ? with 5/7 snr's ?

will this be stable ? how come my attenuation went from 56 to 52, then 52 to 56 and now back to 52 ?

There is alot of work going on at the mo with all of the street cabinets around me (all being upgraded to FTTC) and the exchange, is that why the attenuation is changing ? if my speed was capped why has it gone up ?

Re: Sync speed after manual configuration

Your noise margin is a little low which may explain why the stats have changed, if you think it is unstable then reboot the router and it should sync a little lower but with more stability.

Re: Sync speed after manual configuration

      i have just done that:

Connection Speed 3424 kbps 896 kbps
Line Attenuation 52 db 30 db
Noise Margin 7 db 7 db

so iam guessing my speed is not capped then ?
