My old ISP was Eclipse. When I originally enquired and signed up to Sky, it was for the broadband not the Sky Connect as I was informed broadband was in my area. Do you reckon this has changed?

      Thanks

No, that's fine. Eclipse use BT to provide connections hence the 448kbps upstream...looks like migration is still going through

If you call Sky and speak to Provisions they should be able to tell you what's going on

You really need to find out because nobody would recommend you move to Sky Connect, it is just about the worst package in the country.

Any of the Sky LLU packages are very good.

Wrong info, you need to check if it actually says Sky is enabled on your exchange...

Just rechecked via the link provided and it states under LLU:

      Sky / Easynet Available 16-06-2007

Then you should be fine, assuming there were free ports...

The upstream will change from 448kbps though once you're on Sky

Re: Sky broadband amber light on

Hello everyone, just want to say thanks to one and all who helped me out with my original query. i am now up and running. Sky did a tone test on the line which did not work, so there was a connection fault at the exchange. But all sorted now and back online.

One other thing and I was going to post a new topic, but thought I'd just ask in this one. How do igo about securing my router, or is it secure enough? Maybe there is another post on the forum regarding this? Do I nee dto change my password, or what do you recommend. Sorry about my lack of knowledge, just I had a USB ADSL modem previously.

      Thanks,
      ZenZen
