Speeds still disappointing 2 weeks after going live...

Hi folks, I'm new to the forum, and new to SKY broadband too!

I have the unlimited broadband package and it went live over two weeks ago now. It started off at speeds of about 1.3Mbps and has now increased to 2.3Mbps, but I cant help but feel disappointed with such a slow speed.

So I just wanted to pick your brains as to whether or not my line is capable of better speeds. Here is a screenshot of my router statistics:

      Any insight would be appreciated.

The stats are actually good for the length/quality of your telephone line. You could always try the stats from the test socket, but you're doing well as it is.

Really? I was expecting a bit better speeds. ~2Mbps seems quite slow these days.

So, from those stats, does it indicate that we have a poor quality/ really long telephone line?

Not necessarily a poor quality line, but your line attentuation does indicate a very long line. Do as above suggested and post your stats from the test socket to see if you can squeeze a bit more.

Hmmm. Ok, I'll try it in the master socket at the weekend and post up the details. Cheers for the help so far.

Can you confirm does that mean that the router is connected to an extension socket at present? Also, try it from the test socket i.e. unscrew the master socket's faceplate off and connect to the test port behind.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. The router is plugged into the master socket, but I will try the test socket at the weekend to see if there is any improvement to be had. I'll post up my findings again once I've done this.
