    Connection dropping....

    This is a discussion on Connection dropping.... within the Sky Broadband help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; Plug into your Test socket and post your stats from there. It is possible your internal wiring is interfering....

      Plug into your Test socket and post your stats from there. It is possible your internal wiring is interfering.

      Given the speed you had previously, I would say your external line, the exchange equipment or your router has developed a fault. Your best bet would be to replace the router, if that does not cure it, then Sky will have to investigate the connection from your house to the exchange. Some, with V1 routers, are having them replaced free when they say they are very annoyed at being forced to use a Sky router and having to pay for the privilege. You could try that.

      Im gonna call them tonight, slightly annoying if i do have to pay 28 seeing as im not really getting a decent service but if it fixes the problems woo-hoo lol

      Just received my new Sky Router, at first the wireless was being seriously dodgey dropping every 5 mins, but ive changed the channel and things seem to have stabalised, now hopefully everything will, be fine ill post if it is or if it isnt lol

      unfortunately it doesnt seem to have fixed the problem, if anything its worse, the internet stops working like it normally does and sometimes my laptop will just lose wireless signal completly and will not regain signal for sometimes 30 mins+ unless i restart the router,, im outta ideas....

      okay in the last hour ive moved all my equipment around, phones, router etccc. and so far i have downloaded 1gb worth of data and no crash so who knows, heres my new stats anyway:

      That looks much better. You have the potential to get your speed well up into double figures. You could call Sky and get them to up your speed a bit.

      Is it your wireless connection that was dropping? Your actual internet connection looks very good.

      okay wireless seems to be okay now, however my xbox keeps disconnecting, and my internet is whats playing up, it seems to just stop working......
