Cannot connect to Sky Dlink But 2 Xbox's and other Laptop will Please HELP!!

Problem connecting to Sky Dlink router which was set up and made live on 02/11/2010 here is the current information to take into consideration first before commenting

I live with my flat mate who has a Toshiba Vista laptop which connects WIRELESSLY straight away

He has the new Xbox 360 Which connects Wireless straight away

I have a an xbox 360 Elite Which Connects Wirelessly Straight away

I have a compaq presario cq60 which will not connect wirelessly at all states the following

      ∑ Unidentified network
      ∑ Local Only
∑ Windows (Vista 34-bit) cannot diagnose the problem
      ∑ Connected Limited access

I reformatted the PC back to itís factory-defaults, I have installed new wireless drivers from Compaq website.

However it will connect to my mums wireless so I no the wireless is not faulty or broken, it also connects to the sky router straight away via Ethernet cable.

Is anyone able to help me / guide me in the right direction to getting this resolved as itís starting to get on my nerves now!

      Moral of the story is:

I want to connect wirelessly to the Dlink but it fails miserably and yes I have tried rebooting ETC, I donít wan to amend the ip address incase it interfears with the 2 Xboxís and his laptop, also I have tried just connecting with my laptop whilst all xboxís and his laptop are off and still no joy!

      Please Help Thanks!

Have you reinstalled Sp2? This problem was fixed by that service pack.

If you have, try going to the Device Manager, expand the Network section and right click the wireless adapter. Select Uninstall and click Yes if you are asked if you want to keep, or No if you want to Uninstall the Drivers. Reboot your PC and the wireless adapter will be reinstalled, try to connect.

What is the date on the wireless drivers you have installed? The d-link uses WPA2 and if your drivers dont support that then it wont work. I would highly recommend finding who makes the wireless card (Intel/Atheros/Broadcom/Marvell) and getting new drivers directly from them.

Atharos in Vista are causing major problems at the moment. I am fixing 9 out of 10 wireless issues by updating them.
