      384 kbps!

My download speed has suddenly dropped down to 384 kbps. It was always a disappointing 1500 kbps due to me being miles away from the exchance but this is unbearable. I have e-mailed Sky but they have yet to reply. I have plugged my router into the master socket but no joy. If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it. Here are my stats:
      System Up Time 00:30:15
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 7326 9645 0 1086 4467 00:28:46
      LAN 10M/100M 512 0 0 41 0 00:30:12
      WLAN 11M/54M 10827 9420 0 4550 1183 00:30:05

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 384 kbps 432 kbps
Line Attenuation 66.0 db 42.6 db
Noise Margin 9.8 db 13.0 db

      Thanks in advance.

You're on a long line, calling Sky and having them change the line code to GDMT may help things but even then it'd be 1Mbps max

Thanks for the info. I understand that I'm on a long line but I was consistantly getting 1.5 mbps for the last year or so. I'm sure the line attenuation stat has increased for some reason. Anyway, I await my response from Sky with bated breath!

      Re: 384 kbps!

It's likely to have increased due to moving to ADSL2+. It could be that DLM has been running and has changed the line code. Call Sky and see what they can do

      Re: 384 kbps!

It is possible you have been on G.DMT and have been switched to ADSL2+, causing your speed to reduce. If it is not that, then it may be a fault on your line which has caused the attenuation to increase. You are far better phoning, you could have a long wait for a reply to your email.
