      internet keeps disconnecting

      Hope someone can help. Ive recently switched to sky connect broadband which was activated last friday (5 days ago). since then the router keeps disconnecting from the internet and the orange light will flash on the router. I play my xbox online and this is becoming very frustrating as it goes off half way through a game. i was previously with bt and never had any problems. Has anyone any ideas????

      How many telephone sockets do you use?
      Is the router connected to the master socket or an extension socket?
      Are you running any extension cables to the router?
      Does every telephone socket in use have a filter connected as the first thing directly into the socket?
      Do you have Sky tv plugged into any telephone socket(s)?

      Steve not sure about the name of the exchange.

      User 05 I have two phone sockets in the house. The main one in the hall and a new one I had fitted in the front by a engineer last year. Sorry I'm not too clued up about this stuff. The cable comes out the bottom of the main socket in the hall so there is no filter plugged into this box. The cable runs to my front room (10 feet) to the new socket I had fitted. This has a filter plugged in which the phone and the router are plugged into. Hope this helps. Can I note again that I've had no problems like this in a year with bt and there router. This has only started since I switched to sky and there router

      Put your details in the boxes on this form and you will find out what exchange you are on.

      SkyUser - Sky Broadband Availability and Exchange Checker

      You should have been advised that your line will undergo training during the first 10 days and your connection will not necessarily be stable. Unlike Sky LLU you should resync your router at least once a day during this period. This is better done by switching off the power for a minute then switch on again.

      If I may say so, you have made a mistake moving to Sky Connect, which is possibly the worst broadband available.

      Thanks for your input. Can I ask why is it so bad? Would you advise switching back to bt or would I be tied into the contract now?

      Just to point out that my connection has been fine all day today until 5pm then its constently connecting and disconnecting every minute or so

      Peak hours, maybe something to it, is the light on the router blinking orange when it disconnects?

      yes it will flash orange for a minute then go back green. once it reconnects the speeds fine, its just im playing on my xbox live and obviously when it disconnects i get thrown out of my game which is really annoying. i dont understand why it would keep losing connection. Please help
