      Hi guys,

Just thought I'd give you a quick update on the situation and thank you again for your help.

Following your guidance I installed my XTE-2005 with no probs this morning and I'm now using a Belkin RJ11 Cable just for good measure.

Now just waiting for Unlimited to kick in on the 10th!!

Thanks again chaps. Couldn't have come close to getting sorted with your help.

      Hi Steve,

Yeah I used blue/white in 2 and white/blue in 5 as well as orange/white in 3. Everything seems to be tip-top. Can't wait to get onto Unlimited and give it some proper revs now!

Hi if you are not using any extension you can disconnect the orange/white wire in 3. But if you are using the extension keep orange/white in 3. Not long now and it will
      be

      Re: Suddenly Painfuly Slow!

Hi just a quick follow up.

Unlimited Broadband showing as all gone through on MySky page today.

I might be being a little impatient but this (below) is how it stands so far. In your opinion do you think that DLM is going to make a big difference to this as I know that 12Mbs was mentioned earlier in the thread:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4095 kbps 605 kbps
Line Attenuation 33.0 db 16.9 db
Noise Margin 8.3 db 20.6 db

I'm aware that I'm probably jumping the gun massivly here but as ever your opinions are very gratefuly received.

      Cheers.

Hi over the next 2 to 3 day DLM will start and will last for about 10 days you can see the progress at your MY Sky it will also show when DLM will finish. Are the Stats from the master socket behind the faceplate.

      Re: Suddenly Painfuly Slow!

      Cheers Steve,

Think it's as I suspected and I'm being far to impatient! :-)

No those stats are just directly from the XTE 2005 faceplate, looking back I probably should have used the test socket behind the faceplate. I'll post the stats from the test socket when I get in from work.

I logged in and had a look on the broadband section of MySky but couldn't see anything about DLM under Line Testing or any other section but as you say it's got 3 days to kick in so I'll keep an eye out.

      Re: Suddenly Painfuly Slow!

These are the stats from the test socket behind the faceplate:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 13097 kbps 945 kbps
Line Attenuation 33.0 db 16.7 db
Noise Margin 6.8 db 15.3 db

Is it neccessary to leave the cable plugged into the test socket throughout DLM and can you see any market improvement in the above? Wish I had the knowledge to be able to interprit what they all mean!

Hi that more like what you were looking for as long as there is no issues that or close to that Download speed. I think the Upload speed should go higher. let the 10 day DLM finish and then look at any thing that might need some Tweaking

      Re: Suddenly Painfuly Slow!

If that's what you get from the test socket your XTE2005 is faulty...to go from 4Mbps with no room for improvement to 13Mbps is quite a jump...
