That's kinda my problem. When I've unscrewed the bottom half of the box and pulled it off I've detached all the wires by mistake so I have no idea what went were. Am I utterly screwed?

Hi No everything will be OK. These will be the colours.
      White/Orange 4 - 3 Orange/White
      White/Blue 5 - 2 Blue/White
      White/Green 6 - 1 Green/White
      The Colours you have
Blue, Orange, Orange/White stripey one and a Blue/White stripey

Could the Blue White stripe be more white than Blue.
Also could the Blue have a thin white stripe

      Re: Suddenly Painfuly Slow!

Look at the colour of wires that are connected in your extension and to what terminal they are connected. You only need the ones on terminals 2 and 5, but with a filtered faceplate you can also connect the one on terminal 3. Terminal 4 does not matter and can be left disconnected. When you have done that go back to the master faceplate and connect the wires in the same order as they are on the extension.

Post your stats from the Test socket so we can see what you have now.

      Re: Suddenly Painfuly Slow!

Cheers lads. Will check the extension socket when I get in from work (making sure not to clumsily yank the wires out of place this time).

I'll also post my new stats. Had another check at 6am when I got up for work and it looks like I've strangely gained quite a bit in terms of speed already. I'll stick the stats on when I get home and let you guys be the judges of that though...

      Re: Suddenly Painfuly Slow!

This is what I've got from the test socket

Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 45440 68477 0 40 0 4:51:11
      LAN 15 0 0 0 0 24:49:32
      WLAN 681755 556320 0 0 54 24:49:05
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7296 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 30.0 db 15.0 db
Noise Margin 14.4 db 24.0 db
      Poll Interval: 10 (secs)

I hope the below attachment works, this is what I'm up against upstairs (I hasten to add it's a relic from the previous owner). Looks like some sorta wierd adapter thingy. Not much use to me if I'm going to follow Toms guidance.

Steve, the blue and white stripey one is more white than blue and the blue one seems to have tiny bits of white on it. I know this probably isn't much help.

Ps. my XTE-2005 is on the way

Hi it does help because of the colours on a previous post.
      White/Orange 4 - 3 Orange/White
      White/Blue 5 - 2 Blue/White
      White/Green 6 - 1 Green/White

These should be the ones to use White/Blue 5 - 2 Blue/White that is all you need connecting.
Once you have connected those two wires try your telephone to make sure you have a signal.

That's OK it shows you are still on the 14db cap, but don't bother about it as it will all change when you move over to LLU.

When you post the stats just post the bit which shows them. Including the Router Status shows personal information which you should not post.
