Hi that will be when you move onto The Unlimited Package then about 2 or 3 days DLM will start for about 10 days. If you keep logging in to your my Sky it will show when DLM starts and when DLM will finish. Do you have your telephone with Sky as well.
You are over the hard part you are rid of connect and moving on to Unlimited. When you have improved your master socket you should get about 12Mbs maybe more.

      Re: Suddenly Painfuly Slow!

Cheers for that Steve, good to know. Think I'm gonna be on there twice a day at least checking!

We've got the phone with BT, no idea how that happened so I'm gonna blame the mrs :-)

I've ordered the XTE-2005. Would like to think I'm compitent enought to install that myself but I reckon shelling out for someone to come and do it would be more sensible. Will it make a difference if I don't get that fitted until AFTER the DLM is carried out on Unlimited? In other words if I wait until after the DLM to get it installed how do I then make sure I get the maximum ie 12Mbs+? Is it automatic?

Hi to install the face plate http://www.adslnation.com/downloads/...2005_Guide.pdf if you have no extension you just remove the old faceplate and replace it with the XTE-2005 faceplate. If you did have any problems with low speeds you could after DLM was finished and new faceplate fitted you could contact Sky and tell them that you have fitted a XTE-2005 faceplate and Sky would more than likely rerun DLM. To improve the speed. DLM ran twice on mine the reason I have TV BB phone and line so I moved on to SVBN. So phone with Bt DLM will only run once.

      Re: Suddenly Painfuly Slow!

Ok, ideally I'll try and get it installed before Unlimited kicks in to avoid complications.

Just read the instructions for the XTE-2005 and it seems a million times easier than I imagined. The only snag is that all of the wires on the orginal faceplate have all come loose when I've removed it so I have no idea where they are supposed to go on new one. The instructions say you're supposed to make a note of where they were positioned on the old one as a reference for where they should go on the new one. Oops. Looks like some lucky telecoms engineer will be doing the easiest 10 mins graft of his life :-)

Hi do you have any extensions if not have a look at http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/cabli...faceplate.html Smithy99 post #2. You will need a IDC tool which you can get at any electrical or DIY Store The plastic ones are about 1.00 You can see what they look like on this link ADSL Nation LTD.

      Re: Suddenly Painfuly Slow!

I beleive there's an extension running to the upstairs bedroom. I'm assuming that makes it a bit more complicated. I've just read that last link and if anywhere near as easy as it sounds I'll definitely give it a whirl!

Hi Then at the master Socket all that needs to be connected are 2 and 5. White & Green goes to 5. Blue goes to 2. Do you know if those are the colours if they are that all that needs connecting.
