Doe's Sky Offfer Broadband Without TV & Phone

So I'm finally cutting Sky at the end of the contract which is in a couple of months what a nightmare & complete trash sky services has been.

The women on the phone said sure, You can keep your broadband without the TV & Phone but it will cost you extra couple quid like 12.50GBP or something

I'm a bit skeptical as atm I'm synced at 14.5Meg and believe sky is gonna degrade my speeds in someway or other. I swear might aswell just leap to BeThere now cause I can Guarantee sky is gonna be all over my speeds for 12.50 / Month

Just an update of what's been happen since my last bitch.

Had to call out an electrician because SKY has cut my freeview signal when Installing there own services..

Now the freeviews working, SKY Channels keep playing up saying Insert viewing card both services was working fine for a few days untill sky rang (Missed call)

Now I'm receiving 5-6 phone calls per week from 08001218143 at stupid times of day when my parents out claiming to represent Sky yes I'm not stupid its the scam people my question is I WONDER HOW THEY GOT MY PERSONAL DETAILS

      PHONE: NAME: ADDRESS

Sky are a useless piece of ****, I bet they can account for the increased Junk mail Ive been recieving.. BT, Virgin, 02 all there competitors oh & SKY them selvs offering me services I'm already signed up to stop trashing my house with your pieces of junk

This is who are contacting you Warranty Cover for Sky Box 08001218143. BEWARE! - MoneySavingExpert.com Forums The first question is I am from Sky and I see your Guarantee is up for renewal. In sales that is called fishing. They only have your name and telephone number which you can get from anywhere.Usually Telephone Directory. The best answers are I do not have Sky or I am will Legal and General. Then you will be left alone.

Re: Doe's Sky Offfer Broadband Without TV & Phone

They must of known I had sky, Ive only had sky for 7months I haven't received phone calls before in the 15 years I didn't have sky

Beware of bogus Sky TV warranty letters/telephone calls.

Looks like I spoke to soon, why is my Downstream sycned just under 13Meg.. when I know for a fact my line is stable to run 14.5MEG & probaly even 16,17,18,19,20MEG!

DLM hasn't recently ran on my line so hows this switch just happened ?

All stats are the same, No change apart from Downstream & Upsteam obviously sky has capped my connection at 13MEG

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 12940 kbps 1098 kbps
Line Attenuation 28.5 db 15.6 db
Noise Margin 8.3 db 7.8 db

My Cap was 13Meg but I was receiving past that cap & was getting 14.5Meg tested with downloads so If I emailed sky telling them to upleft the cap to 15Meg will they fob me off and ruin my connection altogether. I do not want to risk sky re running a "TOOL" Dlm & syncing me at lower speeds

I think this kind of stuff should be available to its customers I'm quiet capable of setting my own caps & speeds

Re: Doe's Sky Offfer Broadband Without TV & Phone

The telephone call is called a cold call. Using the Telephone Directory. If they ring 50 people they are guaranteed to get 44 who will say they are with Sky.

They must of known I had sky, Ive only had sky for 7months I haven't received phone calls before in the 15 years I didn't have sky
I think it was about 5yrs ago when the calls started. A lot of the companies selling the cover went bust or taken over by larger companies. Every time Sky bring out another product. The calls start to happen again. This is what Sky said on 06-06-07 http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-n...arranties.html also Unsolicited calls from Response Handling Ltd on behalf of Sky Broadband!

No. You really aren't. There's a little more to it than just entering some figures blindly.

Regarding the speed drop - I assume you've went back to running the router off an extension and using improper set-up. There's your question answered.

You are funny.. Ive always been on an extension cable.. Ive had 5, 6, 14.5 now just under 13Meg nothings changed apart from my speeds

This is not the best my line can handle & we all know it put me on 20Meg & see how it handles I bet it handles very nicely

      What is Skys email

Also for Sky to cap Downstream that defeats unlimited no caps etc it's just another way to scoot round it. My line is strong to handle 16+ Meg they should at least attempt to run DLM on people's connections every 3months as situations change but knowing sky they would only use it as an excuse to degrade peoples lines

You have answered your own question. Thread closed as far as I'm concerned, unless you have any other questions to ask, little guy?
