No I plugged it back into the main filter thing. Should I have left it in the test?

If you are planning on changing the wiring then yes, it should be left in the test socket during any training period (10 days). Ideally wiring should be sorted out before DLM starts.

Yes, until such time as you get your wiring sorted out as discussed earlier. You may even find it drops right back down to where you were before. If you need the extensions, you may find you can plug the faceplate into the filter while it is plugged into the test socket, it depends on the type of filter you have.. This would give you use of your phones in the rest of the house.

      Re: slow download speed

would it be too late to switch back to the test socket now then? I am still getting the same speed right now with how it is set up.

      Re: slow download speed

If your speed is staying reasonable just leave it till you make the improvements to your wiring then you can get the line reconfigured. If your speed drops right back, then move it to the Test socket and it should go up again.
