Internet connection drops when using uTorrent
I can start torrents downloading, but after about 10 minutes or so the internet connection will drop and I have to reboot the PC to get it up again.
I've tried everything I can find on the uTorrent support forum, including turning off DHT, UPnP and setting the global maximum number of connections to as low as 20.
Having made all these changes to the setup in uTorrent, i tested again but still got the same problem. I then tried disabling Kaspersky Internet Security, still no joy.
I then gave up on uTorrent and tried installing Vuze (aka Azureus) but this also dropped the internet connection after a little while downloading.
It's starting to look like maybe the router is the issue? Does it not like torrents?
Or any other suggestions?

Re: Internet connection drops when using uTorrent
It is likely your line is generating a lot of faults causing the connection to drop. Post your stats from your normal position and from the Test socket if you can.

Re: Internet connection drops when using uTorrent
According to that your connection has not been dropped for 3 days. Have you experience a drop in your torrents during that time? If so, it is probable you are using wireless and your connection to the router is dropping.
You are syncing at a high speed for your attenuation, both up and down, but as long as your noise margin stays high that should not be a problem. You could download and run Routerstats Lite for a couple of days and see how your noise margin is performing.

Re: Internet connection drops when using uTorrent
I have experienced drops within that time, today in fact. I can also confrm I am running wireless.
What could be causing the connection to the router to fail?
Thanks for the tool, I will download and run it for a couple of days.

Re: Internet connection drops when using uTorrent
If it is your wireless that is dropping you are probably getting interference from another network. Download and run InSSider from the link below and use it to discover the channels in use in your area. Set your channel in the router settings to one as far from those in use as possible. If the main channels, 1,6,11 are in use, try 13 that often works.

Re: Internet connection drops when using uTorrent
Huge, huge thanks... that appears to have resolved the problem. Changed the channel from 6 to 13 (there was another network Insside found using 6) and there's been no drop in connection since I did that this afternoon.
Thanks again, I was tearing my hair out over that one!
