    IP address is now 192.168.0.3 from .0.2?

    This is a discussion on IP address is now 192.168.0.3 from .0.2? within the Sky Broadband help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; Since joining sky its always been 192.168.0.2 just wondering why the change and is it normal....

      IP address is now 192.168.0.3 from .0.2?

      Since joining sky its always been 192.168.0.2 just wondering why the change and is it normal.

      That's your internal IP, the router 0.1, if more than one thing is connected to the router whichever item is ready to go first takes the lower number.

      Go to your router settings, Maintenance tab, then Attached Devices. There you will see what is connected to your router and the address they have been given. If you see a device you don't own, someone is using your wireless connection without your knowledge. Investigate.

      There is just 1 device named and its my pc,i have uninstalled the wireless usb adapter and software 3 days ago as it was only a try out for when we get a laptop for downstairs use.

      So would i have to reset the router or a setting on the pc to get it back to 192.168.0.2.

      If you reboot your router, it should give your pc the '2' address. If you want to keep it like that, go to the LAN IP setup in the router and add it to the Address Reservation list and it will always get that address, even if another device is turned on before the PC. This is important if you use port forwarding.
