      IP Ranges

I am due to be connecting up to sky unlimited next week. What kind of IP range are sky using?

I know that they are truly dynamic so will change every time and I saw a post below with:

      89.200.128.*

Will they usually be 89.200.*.* or do the first 2 octaves also change?

      Re: IP Ranges

yikes. I need to set up some remote stuff which require me to enter the ranges in to the firewall. Would appreciate some feedback from what kind of ranges people have seen.

Yeah I've been getting '2' ranges also recently. Thought about setting up a dynamic dns service? I've done it with mine so I can use my home pc via rdp at work. It's just like having a static ip Yippee

      Re: IP Ranges

If you go to the RIPE database and search for "BSKYB" or "Easynet" you'll get an idea of the ranges allocated to them. There are a lot...

      Re: IP Ranges

No that's not them all, there are a whole string of 9x and 2 addresses that you haven't got. I don't know about the 81 and 82 addresses but I am fairly sure the 87 addresses are exchange gateway addresses which are not used as IPs.
Here is a few more to add to your list -
      90.192.0.0 - 90.199.255.255
      90.200.0.0 - 90.203.255.255
      90.206.0.0 - 90.206.255.255
      90.207.0.0 - 90.207.127.255
      90.207.128.0 - 90.207.191.255
      90.207.192.0 - 90.207.223.255
      90.204.0.0 - 90.205.255.255
      90.208.0.0 - 90.209.255.255
      90.210.0.0 - 90.211.255.255
      90.212.0.0 - 90.213.255.255
      2.123.128.0 - 2.123.191.255
      2.123.192.0 - 2.123.255.255

Try putting BSKYB-BROADBAND into the RIPE search bar and you will get a list.

I had forgotten about that one! If you make the query less specific it throws up the 94.xxx addresses as well:

      94.0.0.0 - 94.3.255.255
      94.4.0.0 - 94.7.255.255
      94.8.0.0 - 94.11.255.255
      94.12.0.0 - 94.15.255.255

Not sure how it's done but I think there is some kind of regional distribution of IP addresses as an IP lookup on my PC brings up the geo-location as the town, not the IP hub or wider area.
