Hello Cloud_9, hopefully we can get this sorted for you

Any noise on the line? If there is, remove everything from from the circuit, microfilters, TV splitters, second phones. try a phone on it's own in the BT master socket, if the noise goes away it's either a set up issue or a problem with a device on the circuit.

If the noise is still there, check if you have a test socket (How to test your ADSL in the Master Test Socket) and try the phone in there, and try a second phone, if the noise is still there call sky 08442411736 we run a line test then book BTo to look at it.

Thanks for the reply,i found the problem to be with my phone line extension as the router is in the upstairs of the house so it was causing errors on the line,i managed to get every-thing working by using the test socket which i was amazed as i now have speeds of upto 7mb only problem is it doesnt look tidy with the faceplate off.The sky tech support guy also recommended me to get an adsl socket put upstairs but as i have to get an engineer out i doubt ill bother as im told it can cost from 100 supplied and fitted guess ill make do with the test socket atleast i have the fastest speeds iv ever had in the house before

As run-it-direct says you can DIY, all you need is a filtered faceplate and then you can run the router off the master socket and it'll all be tidy.
