      That's one hell of an attenuation figure

      Well that does clearly show that the phone is causing an issue but I am not convinced that is all that is going on. It could well be that the extra stress on the line when the phone is connected is causing an existing line fault to drop completely.

      If you plug in just the phone, do you hear any noise, pops or crackles? Just lift up the receiver and press a single number, you should hear nothing other than a faint hiss.

      It looks like faulty filters. The trouble is that the Sky filters seem to come in faulty batches so changing it for another one may make no difference. Can you borrow a filter from someone, not a Sky one and try it.

      If your Sky box has a standard modem cable can you try that. Plug one end into the router and the other straight into the phone socket, no filter and post your stats from there.

      Just went to the shop to buy another filter. That seems to have done the trick. Must've been a dodgy batch. Thank you to everyone who's replied to this thread. It's much appreciated
