I'm an unlimited subscriber, averaged around 3-3.5mbps, went on holiday for a week and a half, come back (literally nothing changed) and I'm down to less than 1mbps.

Something is going on that I am not happy with at all.

Grim - if you post your router stats from the test socket you will get some help to rectify the problem.

Don't have a test socket, old master socket thing, looking into the NTE5, but that doesn't change the fact they have likely done something.

The internet wasn't used for 10 days, now the speed has dropped significantly.

The Sky router test doesn't work (no connection made) and their support is slow and useless.

      Here are my current statistics:

Sky are not in the habbit of just messing up peoples broadband for fun!!!

You have some noise on your line and DLM has capped it, chances are the fault is within your own internal phone wiring and as you don't have a TEST socket you cannot isolate it, you will need to fit an NTE5 faceplate and a filtered faceplate to ensure you have the best connection your end.

It could be as simple as a filter going faulty, ensure that all phone sockets have them connected as the very FIRST thing in them.

Was this directed at me or the OP?

Just to say, I've disconnected everything bar the one socket, where I have tried three different filters. The problem has persisted.

I would understand there being a problem if something in the wiring had changed, but everything is the same as it was two weeks ago when line speeds were slower than I would have preferred, but decent.

Nothing will change until you ring Sky and get them to remove the cap. you can only hope that the issue does not reappear otherwise the speed will drop again.
