      Disconnection problems

      Hi

Basically, the router disconnects from the internet at least twice a day, maybe more, for instance in the past two hours it's disconnected about four times, one time right after it connected again. It can't be a router problem as we just bought this router brand new as we thought it might solve the problem, apparently not.

In a good day it will usually happen once in the morning and then once in the early evening, but it can vary, sometimes it disconnects a lot, other times it doesn't. This has only started happening in the past 2-3 months or so.

I'm not sure whether it's actually Sky's problem but as I said, the router we have now is brand new and it's still happening like it was happening with our older router (which does still work, we just replaced it as we thought it might be broke because of the disconnects).

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

      Thanks.

      Re: Disconnection problems

Monitor the connection in the test socket with just a filter and the short grey dsl cable Sky supplied. If it's still dropping from there, then swap over for a new filter and monitor it. Again, if it's still dropping, then you'll need to call Sky to look into it further.

Edit: Nearly overlooked the basics, but one thing to confirm - I assume you're dropping sync as opposed to simply wireless dropping out? Does the internet light go off on the router when a disconnection occurs?
