      Really need your help!!!

i rent a room in a house and basically iv'e had sky broadband for a year now, when i first got the broadband other housemates asked if they could use it and they would pay me how ever much it costs, so i gave them the SSID and network key , the thing is now they say they dont want it anymore and refuse to pay me...but when i look at my network sharing centre there is 8 (yes 8) computers using my network, how do i stop this, like i wanna put a password on there so that i can choose which computers go on it. or just so that i can go on it. please its doing my head in because i hate it when people lie to my face and are dishonest...which in turn makes me look a fool :-(...can anybody please help!

Its much simpler to change the ssid and network key on your router.

Login as above, 192.168.0.1, username admin password sky.

Click set up top left of status page, it will take you into wireless settings.

Just above security options, you will see your ssid and network key. Change these to anything you like, just make sure the key is 8 letters long. Go down the page and click apply.

Then go to your maintenance tab, under this are some options. Click set password and you can change the password for your router login, so that no one else can access this and find out your key. Don't forget to click apply again.

Just make sure that the router is under your control as it is easy for your housemates to reset everything back to the factory defaults.
I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

Failing the above, take the ethernet cable you received and strangle your house mates with it until they get the picture.

Disclaimer: Maybe not the best option.

Perhaps best not to give that advice on calls that are being recorded as well......
