      Question First day with Sky

      Hi everyone,

Signed up to Sky unlimited on 20th, received the router (D-Link) on 24th and went live today as promised so pretty impressed so far.

Before I was on a non-LLU connection and the line stats were as follows:

Connection Speed 7680 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 35.5 db 20.0 db
Noise Margin 6.0 db 25 db

      Now on Sky I'm getting:

Connection Speed 4095 kbps 605 kbps
      Line Attenuation 37.0db 21.3db
      Noise Margin 13.6db 16.4db

Obviously I know it's the first day today and there's the 10 day training period but what sort of speed do you reckon we'll be getting our of it once that's over? When we signed up, Sky said we could expect 8-10Mbps.

      Thanks!

You'll find that the router will reset at 2.30am for the next few days (mine changed 3 times) and your speed will sync at about 10Mb at a guess. Then, depending on your noise margin and reliability, it can move up or down from there.

      Paul.

It hasn't reset actually? It's been connected since yesterday.
      The line stats are now:

Connection speed 11073 kbps 945 kbps
      Line Attenuation 37.0db 21.0db
      Noise Margin 6.3db 13.4db

As I understand it, the router has to reset in order for your sync speed to change.

Hi first of all go to your MY Sky login go to Broadband there it will show you the starting date for DLM and will say should last for about 10 days. DLM usually starts within 72hrs.
