      Just been activated!

      Hi,

These are the stats from my non-sky router...I was supplied with the new dlink, but pleased to say that my old username and password from a 3yr old netgear box still work!

      DSP Firmware Version E.25.41.55 A
      Connected true
      Operational Mode G.Dmt.BisPlus
      Annex Type AnnexA
      Upstream 512000
      Downstream 4092465
Elapsed Time 0 day 0 hr 4 min 54 sec
      SNR Margin(Upstream) 22.5 dB
      SNR Margin(Downstream) 15.15 dB
      Line Attenuation(Upstream) 12.5 dB
      Line Attenuation(Downstream) 33.0 dB

Can anyone have a stab at what my speed might be after the DLM?

Interesting to note that line attenuation has dropped from 37 to 33!

      Thanks

      Re: Just been activated!

Your attenuation will rise up a few db once DLM starts and sets the line to adsl2plus. At a guess, I'd suggest the line would handle somewhere around 9-12mbps.

any reason why you've not used the Sky router? how do you know it won't work as well as what you already have?

      Re: Just been activated!

      Hi,

I've stuck with my Billion 7402nx, which I was eagerly awaiting using on Easynet LLU due to the conexant chipset.

Was previously on Be and I got around 12 meg with various tweaks.

I should be able to squeeze much more speed out of my router than the Sky supplied Dlink, due to the tweaks I can make to it (coding gain, SNR adjustment etc.)

Also the wireless range is phenomenal!!

plus the sync rates are adsl2+...

      4096 (4Mbps) on gdmt = 4092 on adsl2+
