Talking Can I do this?? Possibly stupid!!

      Morning all

This may possibly be stupid so if so please say!!

I'm having problems with my wifi signal, I do have a new router on the way from sky but I just wanted to try something!

At my mums house she has a different router to me, netgear I believe. Can I take her router and connect it in place of mine to see if the wifi signal improves? Just trying to rule out interference for another source!

I'm not sure if I can do it, chances are I cannot. But possibly worth a shot! If it would work, does anyone know if I will be using her allowance or mine? I don't think it will work as I imagine the router is linked to the phone number or something like that.

      Thanks, Ben

As long as your mum is also on Sky Broadband, it should be as simple as plugging her modem in place of your own.

Usage will be recorded against your account, not hers.

Have you tried changing the router channel number, try 13 and work down.

Yeah, tried that first of all! Sky think it's a channel problem with the router.

How many threads re this subject do we need ?
It gets confusing for people trying to help and questions / suggestions just get repeated.
