How do i know if they upgraded(20mb)

Ive been suffering from a dreadful net service for 6months+ now and about 2 months ago i got a letter from sky saying my area will soon be able to support 20mb adsl and they will upgrade me for free shortly, it was something that gave me hope. Previously the lines werent able to 'support' this speed so i assumed it is something bt is doing to upgrade them.
However a week or 2 ago i got a leaflet through the post saying '20mb sky broadband has landed in grantham(my town). So im assuming i would be getting changed over.
Is there any way to find out if i have, other than ringing them

I certainly havent seen any improvement yet and my connection is as poor as ever. i cant use youtube or play any games between 5-10pm it just grinds to a halt or constantly disconnects, about 30 minutes ago when i tried to play a game i got nice 5 disconnects in a row and this isnt even primetime now.

ive rang tech support mainy times, wasted countless hours talking to people who treat me like an idiot or just give me the same crappy answers/solutions and send me around in a circle. So it was a case of if this doesnt work to try and cancel.

i added 2 screenshots just to try show how bad it is:

Stick your details in here :-
      SamKnows - Broadband Availability Checker
Click one down to exchange search.
It should detail whats available at your exchange, there maybe more than one in your town and 20meg may not be available at yours.

Post your router stats, we can tell from that.

How to get your router statistics

      and

How to test your ADSL in the Master Test Socket

Re: How do i know if they upgraded(20mb)

Well i checked that samknows page, and was shocked to find sky have LLU enabled as of about 3 months ago. As i was originally told by others the reason sky broadband sucks here was because of lack of that. i never noticed until now that it was changed.. Now i have no clue why its useless at peakhours.

Sky / Easynet: Enabled as of 23/06/2010

My router stats as of right now early morning where my connection is fine:
Connection Speed 2464 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 53.0 db 25.0 db
Noise Margin 13.0 db 19.0 db

I just want this quality of connection in the evening when i want to actually use the dam thing.

I'm guessing the reason you're still seeing slowdowns is because Sky haven't yet moved you over to their LLU hardware and you're still on Sky Connect via BT Wholesale.

Remember that the Sky LLU connections are up to 20Mb. It all depends on your line quality/distance from exchange. Looking at your stats you won't be seeing anywhere near 20Mb.

Re: How do i know if they upgraded(20mb)

How would i go about gettng put onto the LLU hardware, is it something they are slowly doing themselves or do i have to enquire about it.
Like i said they promised to put me on the 20mb package within a few mnoths and i have no idea when.
I dont really care about the speed, im more than happy with it when it works in the daytime but at 5-10pm i cant even use youtube, its like 10minutes loading for 5 sec of video. At this time of day it streams like it should.

Did you check if your exchange is upgraded by using Dholdi's link? If it is, you are looking at the list on the right which shows providers, you will see a tick next to Sky with the enabled date. Call Sky and tell them you want moved to LLU as soon as possible.

Yes, call Sky Chrisazgo. Tell them you want moving over to Sky Broadband Unlimited. They should do it for you, it make take a week or so for it to happen.

Rang them today, originally got a defualt script answer 'it takes 6 months to upgrade an exchange and a further 3 months to switch you over'
I pushed it and got through to tech support and was told its in the pipline and i will be contacted sometime in the future but i am getting moved over. I guess i just have to endure for a few more months.
