      Draytek 2820vn firmware

I have a Draytek 2820vn which was I have been trying to use with BB unlimited. Problem is the router keeps dropping the ADSL link every few hours. This problem does not occur with the Sky issued DG934.

Having tried various of the 2820vn firmware files I could not get anything working and eventually Draytek service instructed me to send the unit off for repair. They installed a new PCB and reflashed the firmware.

Received back on Tuesday morning this week - still keeps dropping the ADSL.

Does anyone else use this router with BB unlimited and if so which firmware code are you using? Do you have problems with ADSL dropouts? I am sure it is a router issue and not the line since the Sky router works just fine - just does not have such good wireless range or wireless options.

      Re: Draytek 2820vn firmware

As this router uses an infineon chipset I believe it may be simply a case that it isnt fully compatible with the conexant dslam sky uses.

      Re: Draytek 2820vn firmware

Why don't you just piggyback the Draytek to the Sky router so you can use it's better wireless but still use the Sky router as the modem?

      Re: Draytek 2820vn firmware

I have been using a 2900VG for some time on the back of the Netgear (since using the Draytek on Ntl/Telewest/Virgin cable modem). This weekend I have set up a 2820n on Sky Unlimited and so far had no problems, just the usual rock solid Draytek. Took me a while to get it logged in @20Mb though! I'm using Ch1/0,38,VCMUX,PPPoA,Mulitmode on v3.3.4_232201 and getting ADSL2+(G.992.5), 1153846 up, 19996444 down, with SNR 7, Att 6 and I'm lucky enough to be a few meters from my exchange.

      Re: Draytek 2820vn firmware

Thank you all for the feedback - I really wanted to avoid using the two routers (trying to be green and use less electric) - but if that is what solves the problem then so be it.
