      Unhappy SAYNOTO0870 Site Access Problems

Does anyone else using Sky Broadband have problems accessing the http://saynoto0870.com site ?

I can regain access by powering off my modem and getting a new IP but then, after accessing the site several times, it start timing out again each time I try.

I have now tried this with 6 new IP addresses with the same result each time

It would suggest to me that Sky are blocking this site.

Can anyone offer another explanation or solution ?

      Re: SAYNOTO0870 Site Access Problems

Site itself is having issues, perhaps?...

      Or just phone normal numbers

Seriously, though, Sky wouldn't block that site...they don't block any. Try changing your DNS settings to OpenDNS, might be Sky's DNS on the blink again

      Re: SAYNOTO0870 Site Access Problems

Thanks for suggestion but I had already rung the changes on the DNS by trying both the OpenDNS ones and the Google ones ( 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4 ) and it still happens.

      I am very suspicious !!!

Well, until anyone mentions they're having issues I'd take it as an issue your end. Sky wouldn't block that site as all they'd do is see what number is leaked on there and change it (we used to monitor it and alert management to numbers appearing on it when I worked at Sky)

      Re: SAYNOTO0870 Site Access Problems

Now why would Sky allow you to access the site several times without blocking it, then suddenly block it. If they blocked it it would be blocked to all IPs, you would not get on at all.. It is more likely to be the SAYNOTO site, which may be set up to allow only so many uses to save their band width. If quizzed I have no doubt they will deny this. Sky only block sites flagged by the IWF, which most UK ISPs do.

      Re: SAYNOTO0870 Site Access Problems

      Thanks for further comments.

I'll bear in mind that it may possibly be the SAYNOTO0870 site which is blocking too frequent access.

If I continue to have problems, then the next time my son next appears, with his Laptop and Internet Dongle, I will will be able to compare side-by-side access to the site through my Sky Broadband and through his ISP.

      Re: SAYNOTO0870 Site Access Problems

      Thanks Steve.

Neither link ( Home & Search pages ) worked for me initially - with Firefox got Timeout & with IE got DNS Error. Proxy Access was however OK

Tried changing TCP/IP settings to OpenDNS & Google DNS with same results.

Ping resolved IP as 66.197.185.245 but no replies ( timeouts )

Tried accessing site directly with above IP ( to bypass DNS, which seems from above to be working OK anyhow ) but this produces a cPanel Apache page - their Web Hosts

Finally , switched off Router twice and finally got new IP. Access was then OK again - presumably for a while.

I cannot even get to post a query on THEIR forum since, after I have gone through several layers on their site to try to post, then I start to get the timeouts again. It has just done it now when I tried so I am locked out again till I get a new IP.

So something is definitely nobbling my IP after it has accessed the site just a few times.

How many attempts is it until it locks you out. To me it sounds like you have something malicious running on your computer which is wreaking havoc with the website(s) your visiting thus causing this block. I've just tried browsing this site for a good period of about 10 minutes and it never stopped working.

      Re: SAYNOTO0870 Site Access Problems

I also poked around the site for a while with no problem. I also got a 0% packet loss when pinging it. I have to agree with Simon something is amiss with your PC. Can you get someone in with a laptop to check how the site works through a different machine?
