    New Router?

    This is a discussion on New Router? within the Sky Broadband help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; got the router today. didn't work - same speed. makes no sense. but also couldnt get that router to work ...

      got the router today. didn't work - same speed. makes no sense.

      but also couldnt get that router to work correctly with my slingbox. used the same settings as my old router in terms of the firewall ports, LAN IP Address etc.... but it was connecting through the internet rather than local.

      so ive gone back to my original router.

      why would a PSU make much difference to the speed? But anyway yes of course, all the new wires and cabling and filters were used from the package itself.

      Any piece of equipment could be causing the issue. I've seen it plenty of times where the router is absolutely fine, but the psu is duff.

      Whether it be router, psu, filters or dsl cable. Change it all over. If you've done that, then call Sky back up if you're not happy with the speed. Next action would be an Openreach (LL5) visit if they deem it necessary.
