      unidentified network

      im trying to use my wireless on my laptop and it keeps coming up with-

      unidentified network
      access-local only

      can anyone help?

      I've had this one on of my vista laptops ever since I changed to the d-link router. Funny I deal with these vista glitches from time to time in work and most are fixable, but mine is bloody resilient. Try the following:

      Windows Vista cannot obtain an IP address from certain routers or from certain non-Microsoft DHCP servers

      Uninstalling the Wireless Network Adapter works>Task manager.network adapter>properties>uninstall (untick the box about deleting drivers. Restart your computer and the adapter will install again.

      Worked fine for me and others. Do so at your own risk though.
