      Re: Broadband usage exceeded, not.

As explained, the email service is not linked to the broadband service. You can have Sky Email without having Sky Broadband, so the unlimited usage is not applicable.

There are limits placed on the number of emails that can be sent at one time, and also the number that can be sent in a day. I used to have the exact figures, but lost them a while ago.

The limits are in place to prevent bulk spam being sent. It has been known in the past for users computers to be infected with a virus that re-transmits itself via email.

It is also partly due to the fact that Sky Email is not for business use, and very few people will have thousands of legitimate contacts. Most people with thousands of contacts will either be using the account for business, or for forwarding on newsletters and the like.

Basically, your going to have to spread out your emails, and limit yourself to 150 a day. However, you can send more if you use the online service rather than your mail client. Maybe 250 at a time, but dont quote me.

You will also have access to your account for at least 30 days after you leave Sky, if not longer. They don't always shut down the accounts when customers leave.

they aren't. They are supposed to be closed if someone leaves sky completely.

Its like back when they didn't care who went over usage limits. The rules have always been in place, they just haven't implemented it yet.

Sorry, have to disagree, have a look here-

Life Email - Email for Life | Sky Email

When it comes down to it, SkyMail is nothing more than a glorified Hotmail account.

Virgin and BT close your e mail account if you leave. Sky doesn't.

thats new, and hasn't been briefed to the advisers. I have never seen anything that explains that at work. Trust Sky to tell the customers before the staff.
