Router being used by someone else?

I still have not received my sky router however Sky has said this has been signed for and confirmed as delivered. I checked with royal mailís tracking service and sure enough it states delivered and I can see a signature I donít recognise from last Friday. I have knocked at all the flats in my block and nobody has it. Also there was no calling card left to say where it was.

Sky are now sending out another router but my worry is that the one already sent is still active and somebody may be using it. I asked about the password and sky said it comes with the router. I donít like the idea of someone using my internet and everything they go on coming under my account.

Would the router work on another telephone line or is it set up to only work on my phone line? Is there anything I can do to stop it from working?
      Any advice would be appreciated.

      Thanks.

They can't use your Internet as they need Sky BB for it to work. If they're not connected to Sky it won't work. Worst case is they've flogged it on eBay

Any Sky router can be used on any Sky line - the username/password aren't customer specific as such...you've nothing to worry about. Only thing you could do is get Sky to suspended it and then it's useless unless flashed to generic router FW

I've heard of the royal mail delivering to the correct number but a totally different street before, so this sort of thing is quite easily possible. Absolutely useless of them I know but you just have to hope if they do this that the person it actually gets delivered to is honest and will pass it on to the correct person.
