      Oh. OK.

If I connect a Gigabit switch to this router and connect all my Gigabit devices to the switch. Will they operate at 1000Mbit?

Yes the devices will operate at 1000mbit but they wont have a 1000mbit connection to the sky router, only with each other.

Thanks. I'll only be using the Sky router for the net connection. As long as the devices have a 1000Mbit connection with each other through the switch then thats fine.

One more question. Is there any difference between the Ethernet ports on this Sky router? I know they're colour-coded but I don't know what the colours mean.

At present, no. They'll be used at some point for VoD and other such services

Re: Sky D-Link DSL-2640S Router Ethernet Ports?

I know it was said that the Ethernet ports are rated at 100Mbps. Can someone explain why in the log I see Ethernet port 4 using a 1000Mbps connection?

You'll notice they're numbered 0 to 4, eth4 would be the switch's internal port. I guess the internal port might be 1000mbps, or it might be just another software bug.
