      D-Link Sky router broken?

My Sky Broadband was activated a few days ago and I have just changed the wireless SSID on the router and a few other settings and the router failed to reboot.

Now the only light on the router is the power light.

I have tried a rest of the router by holding down the rest button until the "check/test" light comes on (as per the Sky help instructions) but the light doesn't come on, the router doesn't reset, it just stays with the power light on.

Is this a known issue with this router, or is it finished?

      Thanks

Sounds like the router has broken, a phone call to sky should get a new one sent out for you.

It is possibly a duff PSU, but call Sky and they will send a new router. Remember to change the PSU when you get it.

I have the exact same router. If the check/test light does not come on, then I would say the router is faulty.

Its best though to leave the altering of settings on the router until the DLM has finished running on your line, because when you alter some settings, the router reboots, this reboot can sometimes be picked up has a disconnection by DLM, and it can then lower your sync speed has a result of this. It is possible though to alter the settings in the router WITHOUT it been connected to the phone line. All you do is.

Connect all the cables up to the router apart from the cable that connects the router to the telephone socket. Access the routers settings by entering,

Make the necessary alterations that you want to do, let the router reboot. Once you have done this, you can then connect the cable that connects the router to the telephone socket. I just thought I would mention this for when you get another router
