      Sky Unlimited Pricing

      Hi,

I currently have Sky Talk (Normal) and Broadband (Unlimited) which costs 10 per month.

A few months ago I received notice of call price increases (from 1st Sept I think) but also saying that the package price would drop from 10 to 7.50 - I think you may have had to commit for another year.

Unfortunately I can't find the letter for the exact details.

I've noticed that Sky have started advertising the 7.50 deal on TV (presumably for new customers) but my latest invoice covering 1st sept onwards still says 10.

      So

      (i) Is my mind playing tricks - did I really read it was dropping to 7.50 but call prices going up

(ii) If it isn't, do I need to do anything to get onto the 7.50 package or should it happen automatically.

      Many thanks

      Cheers,

      Nigel

      Re: Sky Unlimited Pricing

If you have TV and Phone calls the cost is 7.50.
If you don't have TV and have calls it is 10.
If you don't have either TV or Calls it is 15.

It should be showing on your account, it is on mine.

I think they will sort it out eventually, but it would do no harm to give them a ring or email them about it.

It was my understanding that everyone was being migrated at the end of september based on the chat I had with the rep when I did mine!

      Re: Sky Unlimited Pricing

I did not ask to be upgraded but was, about a month ago. The 1st of September was the operative date and Sky started moving users over weeks before that to avoid a last minute rush.

I am not sure if Sky are insisting on a new 12 month contract before they apply the lower cost. If so they did not make this clear when they made the original announcement, only that you could get the lower price early if you signed a contract.. If they are now insisting on a new contract before you get the lower price, they are not playing the game. The only way to find out for sure, is to call them and ask.

Maybe someone in a similar situation to Nigel could post?

As far as I am aware, customers have to commit to another 12 month contract before the new packages and prices are applied.

This was true when you phoned them up to apply it, the automatic upgrade without users input however was supposed to involve no new contract.

      Re: Sky Unlimited Pricing

As far as I was aware, signing up for a new contract got you the new price earlier than the operative date. If you did not sign up you had to wait till the operative date for the lower price. I suppose it is possible Sky now want everyone who was on Unlimited to sign up for another 12 months to qualify for the lower price. Given what they have done in the past, I would not put it past them, but they should have made this clear at the time. It did not apply to me as I was forcibly upgraded from Everyday and charged another 2.50 for the privilege.
