Sky Connect - more bandwidth deployed?

How are those Sky Connect connections holding up?

I'm seeing signs that the throttling has been lifted and congestion has been mostly sorted.

Hi if you do tests they have to be Bt tests as all Bt tests can be viewed by your ISP Bt Updated Speed Tester Plus the test is the only test that your ISP will take any notice of If you are on a Bt re-badged product. I cannot see any improvement sorry

It doesn't really matter whether or not your ISP can view the test in this instance. I'm just saying that there appears to be an improvement in Sky's non LLU connection quality.

A good test would be one that runs on the blocked ports, for example the BitTorrent test at Glasnost: Test if your ISP is shaping your traffic. Additionally, testing UDP loss will show you the change in congestion levels.

Here's an example of a BitTorrent test during normal peak times:

Example of a connection not under the effects throttling:

Re: Sky Connect - more bandwidth deployed?

The traffic Management Team who throttle the connection and RAMBo who finishes of the connection I am talking of over 2yrs of tests and if you read the Bt test which was done when I was on the phone to Sky and was Sky CST agreed and got someone to ring me.
Bt speed test 14:57 24/01/10 I am show you one of the test below which I had asked to look at Steve's Sky Connect speedtest blog

IP Profile went from 3500kbps to
      Bt speed test 14:57 24/01/10
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 400-1000 Kbps.
      Additional Information:
      Your DSL Connection Rate :960 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 832 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 750 Kbps

Can I ask how you have an 832k upload profile on Sky Connect? I thought it was 448k only.

As for the loss of sync speed, strange, but I've not seen any evidence of it being Sky's doing. I'm more inclined to blame your line.

Re: Sky Connect - more bandwidth deployed?

Sky Throttling the line Bt RAMBo picking up on the irregularities on the line (Sky Throttling) It is a combination of the two.
My line 17070 quiet test. No noise

my router is by the main socket connected with rj11 to the main socket which is a XTE-2005 has two connection points 1/ Telephone 2/ ADSL the XTE-2005 is already filtered so no need for filters. then from the router to the computer I use aBelgin RJ45 FastCAT5e Patch Cable , 5M Snagless Molded . (ethernet cable) instead of an extension.

I can't see any explaination about having an 832k profile there.

Just to say, throttling has nothing to do with your line quality. If anybody else wants to chime in, feel free.

Re: Sky Connect - more bandwidth deployed?

I am showing you there is nothing wrong with the line or the set up.

but I've not seen any evidence of it being Sky's doing. I'm more inclined to blame your line.
      Nobody is talking about Quality.
Over two yrs ago Sky started to throttled the connect package it was oversubscribed and not enough bandwidth now two yrs later Sky are still selling the connect package But have not bought any bandwidth. So what does that tell you.

throttling has nothing to do with your line quality.
832k what does it say on UK online it is there.
I can't see any explaination about having an 832k profile there.
The facts is what with the throttling and Bts RAMBo the combination of both are causing the problems with the connect package and Sky have agreed. There has been Hundred of connect Customers who have either started a thread or posted to connect threads that have left Sky because of the issues. I have already said that a post on Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down? page 165 post #1642 If that happens excellent

Re: Sky Connect - more bandwidth deployed?

UKOnline is 448k. As said, it's rebadged Sky Connect. Same network, same issues.

It doesn't seem I'm getting anywhere with my other points though, so I'll stop.
