Ouch! How come the gateway shows up on your traces I wonder? I'm limited to dr11 and d13; neither of those show up on traces.

I think you'll probably find this is a sky dns problem again, change your dns settings in windows to use OpenDNS.

Also bare in mind Telia are a terrible link in the chain - read WoW forums and you'll see their servers are crap!

It's Sky that's responsible for the problems. They throttle the traffic/drop the packets to an extent where the game can't run without constantly lagging out.

Not according to other gamers on other ISPs with the same issues...there have been threads on WoW on here stating that Telia are at fault as they have **** poor connections. I'm just repeating what's been said in the past

One such thread after a Google search (from a VERY long time ago, mind)

World of Warcraft (en) Forums -> Anything new about "Telia problem"?
So this is why I can play fine on a 3G connection then? It's not Telia, they used to have issues with routing but these were resolved last year. It's Sky, I don't get why people are defending Sky, when it's obvious that they throttle and filter to the extent that your connection isn't fit for purpose.

Re: Sky Connect - more bandwidth deployed?

I'm not defending Sky, I was going on the information I had. I don't play WoW so didn't know Telia had their issues fixed. If that's the case then it's either Sky OR something else. Have you looked on the WoW forums the see if anyone else has issues recently? Might get more joy there

Thing is, though, can you browse the web? Check email? If so, it's fit for purpose...not fast, but fit

Ultimately just change ISP - easiest way of sorting things out. You've got o2 and TalkTalk on LLU so why not go to them??

Because I'm not actually the bill payer, my father is.. but he's completely oblivious to the fact that Sky are just taking his money.. and not providing a usable service.

Also, I'm 3 miles or so from the exchange so the only option is Virgin Media which whilst good, I don't trust other household members to not get us throttled by them.

But still... Sky bought more b/w for connect, because they realised spending money was better than the bad rep they were getting from it.. yet a week later they throttle everyone so it's back the way it was.

I can browse the web... sometimes, if it doesn't time out. Email I have to use my phone for as I can't actually connect to gmail atall.

Re: Sky Connect - more bandwidth deployed?

3 miles is nothing, LLU would still be better than Connect!!

I think the difference is noticeable in different parts of the country - my parents Connect service is good 24/7. I can stream iPlayer HD at 7PM with no issues when I visit
