How did this go from a thread of someone just noticing the throttling easing up to Steve spouting off threads that have no relevence to the OPs statement??

And it would help, Steve, if you answered why you've got an 800kbps upstream when no one else on Connect has it??

Hi The reason as you say spouting off was the discussion on Playstation and net in general then being told to carry on the discussion on this thread. As you worked for Sky you would know what 832k is on the connect package. How do you know that no one else 832k. on connect.

Hi Smithy because of the connect and Bt issues that have been happening and the information that was and is still gathering. Plus declining the offer to leave. As a good will gesture my upstream was put up to 832k. Will that do.

They should be giving you a medal, not just an increase in upload.

Re: Sky Connect - more bandwidth deployed?

The Connect package is, and always has been, 448kbps upstream...almost sounds like someone's upgraded you to ADSL Max Premium by mistake (that product, which Sky do NOT use, DOES have an 800kbps upstream)

EDIT: Seems someone put you on Max Premium to keep you on Sky - so you're the ONLY person on that upstream

Re: Sky Connect - more bandwidth deployed?

I go back to my statement of why you posted other threads when the OP said:

"I'm seeing signs that the throttling has been lifted and congestion has been mostly sorted"

(S)He was purely commenting on his/her connection appearing to be better - wasn't complaining it's slow, wasn't asking for examples of other threads (that I'm sure the OP was already aware of). It was a comment asking if anyone else has noticed an improvement lately...it didn't need your repeated posts about doing a BT speed check, or reading your blog, etc.

If yours is still bad on double the normal Sky Connect upstream then I don't see why you stay, personally. I'd mentioned a few months ago my parents Connect package was appearing quicker these days and it was just as quick again this weekend just gone so it would seem that Sky are (slowly) sorting things out
