      Sky Connection Confusion

      Hi,

Yesterday i became a sky user (but unfortunately i am very confused)

I have got the sky unlimited broadband and free eve and weekend calls. When i phone up i was told i didnt have active phone lines and that an engineer would come out to connect them on the 20th September 2010. I was wondering what he actually does to make the phone lines active? they had virgin in the house last year, so im hoping to god it doens't mean rewiring?

Also when do they send my free router, because i was told it would be sent after the phone lines are made active, but another guy told me it would be asap? confused once again, thanks sky :L

I assume the phone goes into the router itself does it? not into the wall?
If i'm not havinf the tv in the package i won't need a satellite will i?

And lastly, is the router any good, as i will be living in a 3 floor house?
by the way i actually don't know what router i will recieve!

Sorry about all the questions, hope you can help.
Its just a shame sky weren't all up on giving me clear information

      Re: Sky Connection Confusion

If you don't have an existing BT line installed in your house, they will have to install one. This means wiring and fixing a socket to your wall. Make sure they put the socket where you want to use the router.
I'm afraid I can't answer any of your other questions accurately. They do not usually accept an order for broadband until the line is active. If Sky are putting the line in for you, you will also have Sky rental to pay, so I hope you are not getting the phone put in just for broadband as it will be very expensive.

Where did you join, online, phone or a shopping mall salesman? Ifit was the last, I would phone Sky and check on what you have ordered and what the total cost will be. Mall sales don't always lie, but some make a habit of it.

Virgin is cable and not compatible with Sky broadband.
