      Lots of disconnections

Ever since line testing was performed on my line back in June I have noticed that the router is disconnecting from the internet more often than I like (I would prefer it not to at all :P). In the past 2 weeks it has got to the point where in the evening/night it could disconnect as many as 10 times.
Just wondering what could be causing this? I get the same line stats on the test socket as I do on the extension so I don't think it is an internal wiring problem.
      Any help appreciated,
      nnnn

      Re: Lots of disconnections

Can we please see detailed line stats from both the test socket and the extension?
In addition when the router is in the test socket do you get the same number of disconnections?

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 15357 kbps 944 kbps
Line Attenuation 23 db 7 db
Noise Margin 8 db 14 db

Same stats on both sockets, also both disconnect.

      Re: Lots of disconnections

Can you run routerstats lite for a few days and post up what happens with the noise margin when drop-outs occur?

      Re: Lots of disconnections

Quick update, most of the time the Noise Margin stays at 8 however it does momentarily drop to 7 or 6 fairly often. There were 3 huge spikes to 2,000,000 though between 6am and 7am. Also just had one as I typed this which coincided with a disconnection. Thoughts?

      Re: Lots of disconnections

That means it's going into negative figures so there is something causing noise on the line. Does anything turn on around the time(s) of the spikes?

      Re: Lots of disconnections

Can't think of anything (no phone calls just before or during). I'm the only one in at the minute and haven't got anything out of the normal running. Will go take another look round though, any common causes?

      Re: Lots of disconnections

grrrr... I love a problem with now obvious solution :P

Would the fact that these disconnections occur much more often during the day possibly indicate it is external? Since at night the situation is the same in my house yet doesn't d/c
