      Is my wireing OK?

Im sure im able to get atleast 16Mbps or above, but i think there appears to be a problem with my wireing? correct me if im wrong.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 10000 kbps 800 kbps
      Line Attenuation 28.5db 16.1db
      Noise Margin 7.4db 8.5db

Im sure my line attenuation is good enough for 16Mbps or more, but my noise is a little poor right? i took pictures of the inside of my socket, perhaps there is a problem.

As I have said elsewhere if there are no extensions then nothing should connect to the plate you removed.

      Re: Is my wireing OK?

This looks suspicious. The wire connected to the front plate is the ring line, and it could be that there is another extension somewhere wired from a junction box, and just the ring line has been feed from the master socket.
I would disconnect the wire, just pull it upwards coil it in the back of the box.

      Thanks Paul.

So Brian, what you're saying is completly disconnect the orange/red looking wire and leave it unplugged somewhere at the back of the socket?

Yes, just pull it off and push it in the back of the socket.

      Re: Is my wireing OK?

Yeah it looked a bit bodged to me, why is that wire there if no extensions in play from the socket? May well be that this is actually not the master or that there is a socket hidden somewhere

Take the next plate of the socket and make sure only 2 wires are connected to the A-B terminals.

Apart from being a bit untidy its o.k. Now remove the orange wire connected to the faceplate. I think that there is a juction box somewhere, and an extension socket has been connected there. Have a good look and see if you can find one.
