You will have to trace the wire where it comes into the house. An extension socket just looks like the master socket without the split. The junction box can be rectangular, usually grey or oval just about any colour.

Try your stats again, now that you have removed the ring wire.

Follow the wire from the socket to where it enters your home. you will find a small box, with the wire from the outside and maybe another cable leading to a second telephone socket (an extension socket)

Start at the master socket and see where the wire leads to. See if you can find a small box where the line enters your home and post a picture of it.

I never found a small box, but i did find these 2 things.

On the first picture these wires look like they lead to the phone socket, but they look damaged and in sight, and the second picture looked like some kind of box

The second box is a cable one. the first photo shows what could be the phone cable connection. If you cannot find an extension socket that works, then leave well alone, how are your stats with the ring wire disconnected?

      Re: Is my wireing OK?

Here are my stats i took just now

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 10236 kbps 800 kbps
      Line Attenuation 28.5db 16.0db
      Noise Margin 8.9db 8.5db

Yes, your wiring looks in a poor state, and I would not like to see you get a bill from Openreach if you mess things up, so leave well alone. You dont have a bad speed after all

Depends what they class as 'internal' wiring fault. If they class it as internal then call out charges etc will apply.

Suppose phoning them and saying the line quality is crap might open up an avenue for a repair job though. With any luck they could rip out the lot of that and wire you a new master socket.
