      inconsistant speeds

      i have had sky broadband for about 14 months and had a few issues to start with but it then settled down and i was more than pleased with it but they then rang me up and said if i stayed with them and signed another 12 month contract i would get a discount so i did but as it goes since ive did that last month my broadband has been cutting out constantly and my speed has dropped terribly do i have a case to get out of this contract if they do not sort this matter out thanx

      Post your stats in case something has changed at all in your config.

      It is possible DLM has been put on your line and has messed it up. Post your stats as Paul suggests.

      Same thing has happpend to me. Been with Sky about 2 years now and we just started a new 12 month contract. A couple of weeks into it now and for the last few days my connection has been terrible after 5pm.

      Diddymow, you are on Sky Connect and should not have started a new contract. Ring them now and get your MAC code before it's too late, Sky Connect is one of the very worst broadband packages in the UK.

      Same thing has happpend to me.
      Your problem is completely different. As explained in your own thread, it is the package you are on that is to blame.

      Stefbhoy, Are you using wireless??? if so try a wire and change the router channel number, start at 13 and work down.

      Also post your router stats.

      heres my stats of the skyuser tool i was getting up to 10 to 12 meg before when doing tests


      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 2087 kbps 940 kbps
      Line Attenuation 36 db 9 db
      Noise Margin 15 db 7 db

      my exchange is croftfoot in glasgow
