      Re: inconsistant speeds

Unless your router has reboooted and synced a lot higher your latest speedtest is impossible. Speedtest.net is not a consistent performer and can give some ridiculous result. Please use the tester on this site - Sky User - Broadband Speed Tester

Please also post your latest stats.

      Re: inconsistant speeds

It is possibly the router, but it could be BTO are working on or near your line, causing the fluctuations in the noise. Any BTO vans around your area?

I don't think so. The speed changes you are seeing are due to the router dropping its connection and resyncing with the exchange at a different rate. This can be due to a faulty router, problems with the external line or your internal wiring. To rule out the last one, can you plug into your Test socket and run it from there for 24 hours.
How to test your ADSL in the Master Socket

You might also like to download Router Stats lite and run it. This will show how your noise margin is behaving. Internet Software
