Yes, both packages go up to 20mbps. However, it is all dependant on line length, quality and your internal wiring/set-up.

Another person who assumes he should get 20mb on an up to 20mb service. Look I know people paying for SKY's and other ISP's up to 20mb services who can only get 2mb and they dont complain! count yourself lucky you can get 5x that. The money your paying is going towards the unlimited downloads and not the speed.

Agreed with simon, think your self lucky, i get 0.9 meg most of the day, even if i did get the max of 2.5meg it would be 4x slower than yours, but the reason im on unlimited instead of Base is for the unlimited DL.

I don't honestly care if your on it for what. I'm on it for an advertised speed of up to 20mb which is insane if they can't actually provide it, i don't even get 10mb now when they said i will get at least 10.

I don't count myself lucky, i don't get what i pay for. Simple as that.

You said it yourself - UP TO 20 mbps. You DO have 10mbps as per one of your previous posts, so sky are providing the service that they suggested they would. There are people, like myself, who get below 2mbps on the unlimited package. It's the internet - it's no big deal.

If you don't like the service, then leave.

Has your father fitted the NTE5 yet? If he has, plug into the Test socket and post your stats.

You will not get anywhere near 20Mb. As you have been told several times, you, or should I say your father is paying for an Unlimited download and a connection speed of UP TO 20Mb. The speed you get depends on how far you are from the exchange. It is not Sky's fault your house is too far from the exchange to get the maximum download speed. If you want the headline speed of 20Mb you will have to get your father to move to cable, which works on a completely different technology and does not depend on how far you are from your telephone exchange..

I am paying it not my dad, he is fitting it for me, just because my dad is doing something don't get thinking i'm some kid.

They need to start telling people what they will most likely get. I was personally told when i signed up i lived right near it so i would get good speeds, but i don't even get the at least 10mb i was garunteed.

Sorry, with the reference to your dad, I got the impression that you were a youngster.

However the other comments in my last post still apply. You may be near the exchange, but your attenuation indicates that your line is probably nearer 3K in length. If the person who sold you the service told you that you would get 20 Mb, they were either lying, or just ignorant.

Let's see how you get on when theNTE5 is fitted.

Well you definitely sound like a child.

10 meg is GOOD. want 20meg? Go to virgin, want 50 meg? Go to virgin. Basically the only two ways you are going to get the advertised speed is with fibre optic cable or living on top of the exchange.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 10097 kbps 945 kbps
Line Attenuation 35.5 db 17.3 db
Noise Margin 7.8 db 15.0 db
      10097 = 10 meg
