Got activated today a few questions

Hi been activated today on sky LLU. I used to be with fast.co.uk but there price is a bit steep but a good isp. Anyway i know im on a 10 day training period and these are my stats

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4093 kbps 605 kbps
Line Attenuation 54.5 db 22.8 db
Noise Margin 7.1 db 15.9 db

I have tryed using my own router (speedtouch 585) as it always get the best connection but the sync still stays the same (4093kbps) even if i plug it into the master socket so i went back to the sagem and still 4093. Is it best to leave the router connected untill the 10days is over then try to get a better sync??
My speeds with fast.co.uk range from 6500 to 4500kbps depending on day or night and normal copper wiring problems to exchange. will my sync get any better?? the stats was taken tonight so the noise margin is about 2db lower than the day.
I must say with a 4093 sync im getting full 3500kbps speed which is great for that sync

4096 kbps is the default setting for day 1 of a sky connection. Leave it running for the 10 days and check your stats again after.

Oncle DLM has finished, your speeds should be as good as, if not better than your previous ISP - Oh and no download limits or shaping.

With your downstream noise margin at default (7dB) and dropping below in the evening I wouldn't have thought that you will get much,if any, more downstream speed.
Have you tried the TEST socket (search on here for more info).
Internal wiring (assuming you have any) can have a large effect on speed.
Your large range of speed (4500-6500) from your previous ISP shows you have a problem somewhere.

Do you think we do not know you are in Kenya and can't possibly be on Sky Broadband?

This post and the following one look a bit silly now that the Trolls post has been removed

Would a proxy not show you coming from somewhere else? Never used one so don't know how they work tbh!!

I have tryed master socket as said in my first post which made no difference. When i left fast.co.uk i had a sync of 4534kbps and it would not go any higher or lower no matter what time of the night or day like it was stuck changed router cables filters master socket no difference. I think i have a intermittent fault with old BT wiring. which i guess will never get to the bottom of

Well you may be right, and your speed is the best you can get. On the other hand you may just have a simple problem which you can resolve yourself. Post up your router line stats so we can have a look and see, and give some details about your phone wiring (number of extension socket if any that sort of thing)

You say you have tied the master socket, did you remove the faceplate and try the Test socket? Your speed will not change, but other figures may, please post your stats from the Test socket.
